For the majority Later years are great years! Why so much sad negativity everywhere?

“You are Young at Heart!” A Compliment? No!
Telling someone old that they “look young” is an insult. Isn’t it?
You aren’t sure? Try complimenting a woman of today on being bright.
Tell her “You have a brain like a man”.
Sex at 70? Sex at 80? Of Course!
Because the reality that older people still have sex lives stares you in the face everyday. And I would be happy to bet that the majority of younger people just don’t see it!
Retired? Think Again. But Who are You now?
Retired’ is not an occupation, but there it is, on the form, at the bottom of the list.
Or maybe, even worse, you are expected to tick ‘None‘. But that isn’t true, is it? We haven’t stopped.
Danger! Stereotyping Older People Doesn’t Work.
Hearing the stories was my first wake up call to the problem of stereotyping in old age.
So angry at the unthinking ageism they revealed, and so sad that the quality of life these people were living was just not recognised.
